Join us at 4-H Camp!
Jamestown 4-H Education Center

Williamsburg, VA, 23185
4-H Junior Camp provides youth countless opportunities to learn more about themselves, their peers, and the natural world around them. Days are filled with camp classes (archery, kayaking, athletic sports, marine science, challenge course, photography, arts and crafts, and much more!), unstructured recreation and swim time, flag ceremonies, evening programs, and campfires. Our main focus during camp is to help youth develop independence, self-esteem, confidence, interpersonal skills, and other life skills.
The camp fee includes meals and lodging for five days and four nights, a daily snack, all activities, and class supplies. Families can drive their campers to and from camp, or choose to have their campers transported to and from camp by bus.

Age Requirements
Campers: A camper is any youth that is 9-13 years old. To qualify, the youth must turn at least age 9 and may not be older than age 13 as of Sept. 30, 2026.
Leaders-in-Training: Leaders-in-Training (LIT) age is 13 (specifically, must turn 13 on or before Jan. 1, 2026) and intended for youth interested in becoming a Chesterfield Teen Camp Counselor volunteer or teen leader in their community. Leaders-in-Training will learn and model the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship during the camp week.
Teen Camp Counselors: Teen Camp Counselor age is 14-18 (specifically, age 14 on or before Jan. 1, 2025, and no older than age 18 prior to Sept. 30, 2026). For the 2026 camp, if a teen turned age 14 on or before Jan. 1, 2026, they are not eligible for enrollment, neither as a camper or CIT. These teens must apply in advance for a teen camp counselor position. Applications are available each fall around the start of the school year. These positions follow a competitive, selective process. Teens interested in this opportunity for the future should contact Chesterfield Cooperative Extension.
