2026 Well Water Testing Event

Affordable, confidential water testing and education is offered through the Virginia Cooperative Extension through the Virginia Household Water Quality Program. This program provides affordable water testing, help interpreting water test results, and information addressing problem. Water from wells, springs, and cisterns is tested for 14 different parameters including bacteria, E.coli, lead, copper and more. Testing kits cost $70 and can be purchased online by July 27, supplies are limited.

  • Location: Chesterfield Extension Office, 9501 Lori Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832
  • Sample Pick Kit Pick-up: Monday, July 27, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Sample Drop Off: Wednesday, July 29, 7 to 10 a.m. 

Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Receive your confidential results, an explaination of what they mean, and information about any proplems via email, regular USPS mail about 5 weeks after sample drop off. A results interpretation meeting will be conducted over zoom or in-person after results are distributed.
